The Dragon’s-scale Fern is usually the first to appear on roadside trees in Malaysia. The plant needs light shade and moist, warm conditions.
Under conditions of heavy shade, the sterile fronds of the dragon’s-scale Fern lose their oval shape and become elongated. the fertile fronds become much longer.
